Blast!

Howdy! Howdy!

It's been almost seven months since we've updated anything. I don't even know where to begin. Wait, that's not true...

Ladies and Gentlemen, as of April 23rd, 3:02am, at Vanderbilt Hospital, from our loins to yours, the one, the only, INNIS MONROE SAUNDERS!

(Couldn't figure out how to organize the pics better, sorry.)

He's been a blast to say the least. A blast in that he's fun. A blast in that he poops. A blast in that it takes years to acclimate to a bomb that has dropped in your home and decimates everything and nothing is the same and you have to rebuild your entire life and EVERYTHING as you once knew it is completely and utterly gone.... but look at that face!

I would love to tell you about the last seven months in detail but I think that would take a while. I also think some folks might lose interest. To compromise I will do what I call an update blast. You'll get the idea...

Baby & Co visits, skype calling with a upcoming group (church plant), shopping for maternity clothes, trying (failing) to prep a truck and RV to get sold, working 50-60 hours a week, advanced maternal age, awkward conversations, weekly non-stress tests, baby showers, shopping for an endless amount of baby things, mid-wives ranging from absolutely wonderful to pull-every-last-hair-out-of-your-head annoying, lactation cookies, counting down the days to your due date, birthing balls, Ashley working full time one day before labor, water breaking mid-morning two days after your due date and almost immediately going into active labor, rushing but not rushing to the midwifery, having the best Doula in the world, having your wife naked in front of complete strangers, IGNORING MY CELL PHONE, going thru every position and pregnancy tool there is to progress labor, for 18 hours, 5 of that pushing, + a car ride whilst pushing (or trying not to push), an epidural, a c-section, and a 7.1 lb, 21 inch unwilling-to-come-into-the world, sunny-side up baby, Innis Monroe Saunders.

Four days in the hospital, jaundice, baby toboggan, lactation specialist, tongue tie surgery, sleep? what's sleep? two weeks off of work, baby bliss, celebrations, beers, hormones, emotional grenades, if I hear awwww ONE MORE TIME, not knowing what the hell we are doing, like EVER, getting back to "normal life" (WTF is normal anyway?), counting down the days to move to Philadelphia, twelve hour car ride to the To The Saints Conference in Austin, TX with a three month old, having the greatest brothers and sisters (in Christ) who have ever lived, packing all belongings into bro's trailer and moving to the city of brotherly love with a single bro (Thomas), starting our first church plant without supervision, kinda, waking up to a child yelling but not crying AAAAAAAAHHH, decorating a house together for the first time with almost zero moneys (and totally agreeing on every decision without fighting at all;), and putting off writing a long email to update all those that we love and cherish.

But seriously we are doing great and loving it up here in Philly. Innis is six months old, is a miracle, is wonderful and beautiful, fantastic, his laughs are the best thing in the world, and is a big huge pain in the ass. The group here is great. Cheese steaks and pizza are awesome, tree work at Davey Tree is different but the guys I work with are all hilarious.

Lastly, I have been told to mention that our Paypal donate button is in the menu tab at the top. If you want to help us monetarily it is most welcomed and a huge help. We are not too proud to say that we need as much help as we can get. Love and miss all y'all.

W.A.I.T. (Wes, Ashley, Innis, Thomas)

P.S.    Email and subscriptions to come. I hope.
